Boosting Confidence Through Movement

Our elementary school girls started October with an exciting Fun Friday dance workshop hosted by FP Movement. Professional dancer and choreographer, Kelly Sweeney, spent the afternoon leading our girls in a dance routine. A few girls started out shy, but by the end of the warm-up, they were full of energy and enthusiasm.

Our girls quickly learned the routine and were encouraged by Kelly to make the routine their own by adding their own moves. Afterward, each girl was gifted an FP Movement backpack with goodies and a delicious snack.

Through dance, our girls are expressing themselves, building confidence and breaking out of their shells. We are committed to providing students with experiences that help build their self-esteem and encourage them to try new things.

Thanks to FP Movement for helping spread joy through movement!

Building a Strong Community

This month, our girls celebrated International Day of the Girl on October 11th by getting to know each other better.

Girls created an "All About Me" wall in their Girls Inc. room. This wall showcases their favorite things and future plans, allowing our girls to connect on a deeper level.

This semester is focused on building a strong sense of community and creating a Girls Inc. space that reflects our girls and inspires them. Girls are participating in activities where they work together learning the value of teamwork.

Your support inspires girls to grow strong, smart and bold. Consider making a donation to bolster our programs!

2nd Annual

Women's Leadership Breakfast

We had a SOLD-OUT event again! Thank you to everyone who helped us raise over $78,000!

Over 150 attendees enjoyed an empowering morning learning from our phenomenal panelists and networking with an incredible group of inspiring women from our community. We were joined by Girls Inc. LA alumna, Jessica Rayon Maldonado, who shared her journey as the first in her family to go to college after visiting a campus with Girls Inc.

In her speech, Jessica said, "Your investment is an investment that will be shaping the future of the country...Breaking glass ceilings is not easy... thank you for your leadership for investing in me, for investing in the generation that will come after me and for investing in a better future."

Thank you to our sponsors, supporters and guests for making our International Day of the Girl a wonderful success! Special shoutout to our host Chief for ensuring every dollar raised goes directly into our Girls Inc. programs.
