Girls Inc. Starts the School Year Strong!

After a fun-filled summer program, we are ready to help girls jump start the new school year with Girls Inc.! Over the past few weeks, our staff has been hard at work, welcoming back familiar faces and eagerly embracing new participants.

We are thrilled to launch Girls Inc. at Braddock Elementary School, our sixth school partner. We are now serving two elementary schools and one middle school in the Venice community. This marks a significant step in our expansion efforts to create a feeder pattern of schools in South LA/Watts and Venice that provide Girls Inc. programming.

As we continue to evolve, we are committed to investing in our Girls Inc. team, ensuring the highest quality programs for our girls. This year, we have converted our part-time program roles to Program Facilitators, broadening our reach and expanding our program during school hours. We know that many girls cannot join after school and we want to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to be inspired to be strong, smart and bold!

We thank you for your support, which allows us to make a difference in the lives of the girls we serve. We invite you to take a look at our strategic plan and stand with us by making a donation to bolster and deepen our Girls Inc. programming this year.

Girls Inc. Student Anai Wins

Pitch Contest!

We are proud Anai, a graduate of our middle school program placed first in the Entrepreneurship Mindset & Milestones pitch competition. Anai's creative business plan for a Mayan Cultural Performance Art Center earned her a well-deserved $1,000!

Anai expressed her gratitude for the support provided by our Development Manager, Ariana Jordan, (together, pictured left) who served as a mentor throughout the year-long Entrepreneurship Program with Mindset & Milestones.

Anai shared, "Before I joined Girls Inc., I was a very reserved and shy person. I never knew how to speak up for myself, express myself, or even ask for help...I had never imagined myself being a part of a pitch competition. I am now ready for anything that high school has prepared for me. I am thankful for Girls Inc.”

Girls Inc. is proud to help pave the way for girls' success and be there every step of the way. Help us change lives with a gift in support!
