Girls Inc. LA Receives "Phoenix Rising Award"

Last week at the Girls Inc. Aspire Conference in San Antonio, Texas, Girls Inc. of Los Angeles was honored with the "Phoenix Rising Award." This award is presented to the affiliate who has demonstrated the ability to rise as a leader in the network despite facing challenges.

Like many organizations, we needed to rebuild our programs after the pandemic. Three years ago Erin Ross came on board as CEO, followed shortly by Chief Program Officer Dorian Garcia. Under their leadership we have successfully built new programs that enrich our girls and meet their needs. CEO Erin Ross says, "I am so grateful for the last three years and all that has been accomplished, but I am even more excited for the next three. We have an extraordinary team doing this work every day and our girls deserve nothing less."

This recognition is a testament to our team's growth and resilience. We are truly grateful to everyone who continues to believe in our work and makes it possible for us to inspire a new generation of girls to grow strong, smart and bold!

Back to School with

Summer Fridays

To prepare our middle school girls to go back to school, the Summer Fridays team filled backpack with essential school supplies to support them in their academic journey. We are grateful that each girl received a stylish backpack with a Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm to prepare them for the year ahead.

Waymo Brings Joy

To Our Classroom

Waymo partnered with us to celebrate the start of Girls Inc. programming with a donation of classroom decor to create a more vibrant and inviting space for our girls at Stoner Ave. Elementary. 

Waymo, the autonomous vehicle, delivered bean bags, floor cushions, curtains, string lights, decorative plants and a bookshelf to transform the room into a joyful and welcoming space.
