This holiday season, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) has so many reasons to spread holiday cheer. With new Habitat LA partner family homeowners in their new homes for the holidays, December has been a busy month as we express gratitude to all who helped make this happen. From our Building Holiday Memories partner family event to the 2019 Holiday Reception thanking donors and volunteers for their support, 2019 has been an amazing year for Habitat LA.
Bel Air Presbyterian Church
Donates 1,100 Thanksgiving Baskets
Many thanks to Bel Air Presbyterian Church (Bel Air Church) who helped spread the holiday spirit by donating 1,100 Thanksgiving baskets with enough food to feed 10 people per basket, to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) partner and home repair families on November 24 th . In total, Bel Air Church and its local partners helped feed 11,000 neighbors. Bel Air Church has not only partnered with Habitat LA for the past five years through donating Thanksgiving baskets but has also been an important valued partner since 1991. As part of Presbyterian of the Pacific Coalition, Bel Air Church has also help raise $250,000 for our ten-home site in Culver City. We are so grateful for your support. Thank you for all that you have done to help us build LA!

Build with us this week in LA – Volunteers Needed, No Experience Necessary!
Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. Whether you are a contractor or have never picked up a hammer in your life, we could use YOUR help. Invite your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to help build too!
Our Next Site Host Volunteers Orientation is on
Saturday January 25 th
Are you a morning person? Do you consider yourself tech savvy? If so, we're looking for Site Hosts to greet volunteers each morning on the construction site. Site Hosts are responsible for welcoming guests, checking in volunteers, and making sure volunteers are registered via our online system. We're seeking volunteers that can dedicate one day a week from 7:45 am - 9:00 am, Wednesday through Saturday. As a bonus, Site Hosts are welcome to stay onsite and build after their shift is complete! All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
 
Orientation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 7:45 AM-9 AM in Culver City.

Construction Crew Leader Orientation is on
Wednesday January 29 th
Have construction experience and want to give back to our community? Volunteer with us as a Construction Crew Leader!

Crew leaders help lead unskilled volunteers on our construction sites. With our crew leader training, you’ll learn valuable leadership skills and practice teaching and coaching others.

Attend our upcoming orientation on Wednesday, January 29 th from 9 AM - 3:30 PM in Culver City to learn more.

Join our Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) group for a Young Professionals Networking Event on Thursday, January 16 th from 6:30PM to 9:30PM at KUSTAA , a wine and cheese eatery in Los Angeles!

Invite your friends and colleagues to join the fun while making a difference. Minimum ticket donation is $50, and your donation helps further our mission to build homes, communities, and hope to ensure that everyone has a decent place to live.
