FNEI Highlights and Achievements

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc. was able to raise over $1 million dollars to help provide meals to our neediest families. We were able to serve 500+ meals daily. Over 130,000 restaurant-purchased meals were provided from the end of the 2019-2020 school year through the start of the 2020-2021 year.
  • FNEI has brought over 10 new Computer, STEAM, STEM, tech, and Dance Labs to our Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
  • During 2019, FNEI continued it’s relationship with Ray Allen and the Ray of Hope Foundation. Through this partnership, two new Computer Labs were donated to the District, bringing the total to five donated computer labs from Ray of Hope.
  • FNEI Raised over $600,000 at the 2020 FTLOL Gala to fund District initiatives, such as the Cultural Passport, student scholarships, and addressing basic needs for the District’s nearly 10,000 students in transition.
  • FNEI and M-DCPS supported the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program for the sixth consecutive year. With the support of the County, The Children’s Trust, and Career Source, $4.3 Million was received to support 2,321 student internships.
  • Since 2016, FNEI has raised over $213,000 for participating schools in the Superintendent’s 5K Challenge - Race for Education.
