The Real Gift of the Holidays

The holidays are filled with anticipation, joy, and, let’s be honest, a lot of shopping carts and shipping delays. But more and more families are stepping back to ask: what actually matters to our kids this time of year? Recent research cited by ID Tech shows that 74% of people prefer experiences over traditional gifts, and Gen Z especially values adventure and trying new things. Experiences create memories; toys eventually end up in a closet.

Safe Cooking, Happy Holidays!

It’s that time of year again! There are several holidays coming up. We’ll have lots of opportunities to share recipes, bake treats, and enjoy family time at the dinner table.

Kids love helping in the kitchen. They also benefit from it. It can reduce picky eating, help kids connect with cultural traditions, and encourage healthier food choice. It’s also a great opportunity for kids to build confidence!

National Adoption Day a Reminder That Forever Families Needed

Michael Nash, a former LA judge, started opening his courts on Saturdays with the help of volunteers in the late 90s to help finalize a backlog of adoptions. Inspired by Nash's dedication, National Adoption Day has been held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving since 2000, highlighting courts and organizations in 400 communities across the country that finalize adoptions from foster care and raise awareness for more than 100,000 children still awaiting permanent homes. This year, National Adoption Day is on Saturday, November 22.
