The new Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is a historical treasure that takes us back to an earlier era and allows us to glean from our past lessons...and helps to direct our future. Following a catastrophic tornado in 1896, the community felt the need to replace the “Old Cathedral,” with a grander, more worthy structure for the great growing western city of St. Louis. Featuring three domes, two spires, four chapels, and seating for 5,000 worshippers, this cathedral truly stands the test of time...built with brick at its cornerstone.
