St. Martin's Day

We will celebrate St. Martin's Day this Sunday, November 11th. It seems so fitting that it coincides with the conclusion of our Season of Sacred Portion. The past few weeks have been a time for reflection and decision-making as to how we can use our "first fruits" to be a soldier of Christ. Join us in celebrating our abundant blessings and the wonderful ripple-effect that our giving creates!

The Young Celebrate St. Martin

November 11: St. Martins Day –The children and youth will sing with the adult choir. Music is a special way for children to participate in the worship service. Even if your child has been unable to attend the practices, he or she can join the other children to play drums and participate. There will be no regular Sunday School on the 11th. Instead, in the Gurley Room and chapel area, Ms. Deb and her assistants will have Bible-related activities for the children and a picture book telling the story of St. Martin .

The nursery downstairs will open at 9:30 a.m. Please let Ms. Deb or Megan know if you would like your preschooler to join you before the Eucharist. Questions? Please contact Ms. Deb for more information.

Visit St. Martin's Sunday School webpage to learn more about the programs.
New Church
Preschool Praise and Worship

St. Martin's next special event for families with young children is on November 18th, at 10 a.m. Fr. Chris and his daughter Emma invite parents and preschool-aged children to join them as they share Jesus’ love while getting to know each other better. This special gathering will be in the Small Sunday School Room/Nursery. Parents with younger children (not yet in kindergarten) are most welcome for this Preschool Praise and Worship Event. During the peace, Fr. Chris will head back upstairs for the Eucharist along with all the parents, children, and youth.
Outreach
Thanksgiving Bags

This year's Thanksgiving Bag collection will benefit our neighbors on Highland Avenue. We hope to assemble 52 bags with typical Thanksgiving dinner items. The list of food items can be found on St. Martin's website and in church. Please bring your donations to church by Sunday, November 18th. Questions? Contact Pam Faber .
Community Mission
Goodworks is up and running!

Goodworks, our collaborative St. Martin’s Church, Radnor and Christ Church, Ithan Community outreach initiative, is up and running! Now we need your help to stock our supply bins so that we can be ready to respond to community needs when we’re contacted.

You’re welcome to pick up a hard copy in the back of church or print one from the SMC website. Questions? Please contact Dennis Bingham or Carisa Gring.
Bible Study
Location Update

Every month, our Bible Study of the three synoptic Gospels alternates between two church homes. November is the month when we meet at Christ Church, Ithan at 7 p.m. in the parish hall (536 Conestoga Road, Villanova). One advantage of this Bible approach is that each week you can attend even if you have missed previous Wednesdays. Books are provided. Join the conversation whenever it works for you as we interpret scripture in the context of our lives. Questions? Please contact Deb Parker for more information.
