“It’s a home-away-from-home,” describes Jennifer Waldron.

After what seemed to be an easy and uncomplicated pregnancy, Jennifer and Jamie’s daughter, Raelyn, was born this past August with a congenital heart defect known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), meaning the left side of her heart was critically underdeveloped. Twelve hours and one Lifeline flight later, Raelyn was transported from her hometown of South Bend to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University in Indianapolis where she would remain for more than two months undergoing operations and procedures.
“ To know that we can come back here and there’s a meal, there’s people that you can connect with that have maybe the same thing going on … if [the Ronald McDonald House] wasn’t here, I don’t know what we’d do.”
Though little Raelyn has a long road of treatments and recovery ahead, your sustained support can help keep her family and others like hers together every step of the way.
