Open House - Celebrating 30 years in business

Our Open House was on Saturday June 16th and we had a great turn out for our 30th Anniversary Celebration and the opening of the new Day and Co store area. The Sporting Clay cookies were a big Hit, along with the Hot Dogs!! We also had a draw for a lot of Silver Willow items, including $100.00 Gift Certificates to Silver Willow. Thanks to Don, Gwen & Josh they sure know how to throw a party!

NOTE ****There has been some recent changes to this event, please read carefully.
FITASC is canceled due to low enrollment and replaced with Super Sport event, the main event is only 200 clays on Saturday and the Sunday event is a separate event of 100 clays.

Registration is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 AM

THURSDAY AUGUST 9th 2018
 
Known as "golfing with a shotgun", enjoy a unique outdoor shooting experience within a safe and social setting. You will have the unique opportunity to shoot 50 clays at Alberta's very own Silver Willow Sporting Club, located just outside of Carstairs, in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Southern & Central Alberta. Individuals and teams of five will take on 10 different stations where they will each shoot  five clays before proceeding onto  next station.

Shoot Results
Pheasants Fever Shoot - May 26th
 

Congratulations to Nick Stanford,

Bob Merkley, Graham Becker, David Scott.
 
This was a 1st time event, here at Silver Willow and was Sold Out months prior to May. Pheasants Forever Calgary is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants and other wildlife by restoring and enhancing the upland wildlife landscape. This event was set up in a 4 Person Team Buddy Format - Individuals on each team must alternate partners at each station. We had an amazing day, with 28  teams.  
 
 
2 Man Team Shoot Ducks Unlimited - June 2nd
 
Martin & Connor.

This shoot is always a crowd favorite, as the two shooting partners are working together to hit the clays, which is a bit unconventional in sporting clays! Each team shot a total of 150 targets on the Blue Course and then finished off with a 50 clay "flurry" event on the Duck Pond. The weather was perfect and we had 47 teams. Ducks Unlimited awarded medals to the winners of the Lewis classes.
 
Congratulations to Martin and Connor who won HOA with a score of 176/200.

  Junior Learn To Shoot - June 9th    
 
 
This is an annual FREE event, sponsored by these kind donors: Federal Ammunition, Alberta Sporting Clays Assoc., Browning, Silver Willow and our awesome instructors who volunteered their time!

We had a great group of  40 Juniors ranging in ages from 12 - 17 years old. Many of the youth had never shot a shotgun before. Everyone went home with a Browning cap, a certificate and a cap light. Lots of door prizes where given out.

We had good weather and each participant shot 25 rounds and then enjoyed a BBQ hot dog lunch. The Juniors used a variety of shotguns from 410's, 20 gauge and 12 gauge feather lights. Thank you to Don Terrio who did the safety talk and helped organize the shooting squads. 

This year we received a number of notes from Junior's, who wanted to tell us about their experience at the Junior's Learn to Shoot. 
   
            
               
   
                      
                                  
                                             
CLAYS FOR THE COTTAGE - June 21st
 
 On June 21st Silver Willow hosted the 2nd Annual event for the Children's Cottage Society of Calgary. This event tested the skills of avid clay shooters and aspiring shooters alike! We had 240 participants on 24 teams. Sporting Clays is North America's fastest growing sport and supporting little ones in your community makes it even more worthwhile! The day was just perfect for sporting clays and everyone  enjoyed themselves. This was the largest events ever hosted at the club. The volunteers, staff and board members worked tirelessly to put this wonderful event together and raise funds for the children in need in Calgary. Please look up their website and donate to this worthy organization. Thank you as well to our hard working Marshall's.

Access to Silver Willow is available to members and their guests as of January 1st - 2018. Insuring quality service, booking availability and ultimate safety are among our top reasons for this change.   
  
Non-members are able to shoot at Silver Willow when accompanied by a club guide during specified times. Access is also granted to guided corporate/team building events, participants of competitions and private shooting instruction sessions.
