Did you know that only 1 in 3 children
in Edgecombe County and 1 in 2 children in Nash County are reading on grade level by the end of third grade?
Our community is ranked as one of the 40 most distressed areas economically.
Times are tough but our children deserve the best. What can we, as individuals, do to ensure a bright future for our children?
At the Down East Partnership for Children, we believe that every child deserves the right to become a healthy, lifelong learner by the end of third grade. It is up to us to create the environment that makes children successful. A positive impact on the lives of children in the early years ensures academic and career success.
Why Give to the Down East Partnership for Children?
The Down East Partnership is one of the few organizations designed
to serve children and families from birth
through age 8 - offering comprehensive
services in health, family support, early care
and education and services supporting schools
through the third grade.
The Giving Campaign
We are launching the "Give a little. HELP A LOT." giving campaign to bring awareness to the impact early education is making in our community and the challenges we face. We are asking you to consider making a contribution that will support:
- literacy
- high quality education
- healthy lifestyles
- improved access to healthy food choices
Please consider making a contribution - however large or small - to help us build a brighter future for our young children. Thank you for your commitment.
