Celebrate Do Good Days with All Care
In the words of SHARE Omaha, Do Good Days are “three days dedicated to supporting our community, in every way we can.” This year, the event runs from May 17 – 19. SHARE Omaha asks that you Give on Tuesday,” May 17 by “Making donations to nonprofits that matter to you.” On Wish List Wednesday, May 18, buy the items that nonprofits need; and on VolunThursday, give your time with family and friends or make a new volunteer commitment. Here’s how to assist All Care Health Center, during Do Good Week:
Give on Tuesday:
All Care Health Center accepts donations every day to help provide care for our most vulnerable and underrepresented friends, family, and neighbors. Funds help All Care to provide affordable healthcare for all, including low-cost prescriptions for those who may not otherwise be able to afford them. Donations can be made, virtually, through our website: https://www.allcarehealthcenter.org/donate/. Donations are also accepted via cash or check through the mail or in person.

As an All Care Health Center Ambassador, partners commit to working with All Care and other Ambassadors to strengthen the awareness of and access to community health services, especially those for those that are underserved and underrepresented. All Care Ambassadors serve a pivotal communication role — helping to improve Council Bluffs’ awareness of healthcare options available for everyone.

Sharnell Jones & Wanda Zellmer, Earns All Care's April Service Excellence Award!
|
Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! The Team of Wanda Zellmer, Medical Records; Sharnell Jones, Medical Records; and Kim Slobodnik, Billing and Medical Records Manager, have gone above and beyond in their job duties to reduce paper storage in the health center. Kim oversaw the logistics and workflow. Wanda sorted through boxes and created an overall records storage list, and Sharnell Jones did double duty in medical records to allow Wanda the time to be working on the records. The team scanned and shredded over 150 boxes of records for recycling. A portion of the newly created non-patient space is being reused as a photo studio for the All Care marketing team.
In addition, COVID-19 Antibody Testing is, once again, completed on all donations. Donations with the needed antibody levels may to help treat patients with weakened immune systems who are battling COVID-19.

Story Street Food Pantry Is Coming to All Care
All Care has created a partnership with the Story Street Pantry to continue to emphasize whole person health for our community that includes access to food. The pantry will be available on May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at our 902 South 6th Street health center. The pantry is open to all Iowans who participate in SNAP, Free & Reduced Lunch Programs, or meet The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) income guidelines. When individuals arrive at the pantry, they will be asked to complete TEFAP eligibility form, then fill out a food order form for All Care volunteers to fulfill, on the spot. The non-perishables are great nutritional options for the entire family.
If you need food, we hope to see you there! If you have clients that need food assistance, we hope to see them there. We plan to continue the pantry service on the fourth Monday of each month, throughout the summer. Share the good news!
