Building STEPS SNAPSHOT

October 2021
Stepping Out Of The Comfort Zone
Our high school sophomores and juniors came together for a fantastic day of team building at Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center. What a day we had! Clear blue sky - check, sun shining - check, 72 degrees - check! Outdoor learning encourages trust, new friendships and broad thinking. Hailing from 15 Baltimore City public schools, our newest cohort is developing relationships and creating a strong foundation for Building STEPS programming.
Join Us To Give Back On Giving Tuesday

Exhibiting at Tour de Workforce, Building STEPS Career Expo, is the perfect way to give back this Giving Tuesday! Baltimore area companies set up an information table, creating opportunities for students to learn about their company, ask questions, explore their interests and practice professional conversations. Students know this program is for information gathering only, not for securing a job or internship. Event is 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on November 30th at Towson University. To reserve your FREE table or for more info, please contact Jen Descoteau, Director Stakeholder Engagement:
(*We plan to increase the room space, spread out information tables for social distancing, as well as mask wearing and omitting handshakes.)

Building Strong Ties

Building STEPS is proud to be included in Towson University’s BTU Partnerships for Greater Baltimore, a cross-campus, collaborative approach to addressing the needs of the region through community engagement. TU has supported Building STEPS since our founding in 2000, through Board leadership, in-kind donations of office and programming space, and hosting student interns. We are honored to welcome Dr. Vernon Hurte, Vice President of Student Affairs, to Building STEPS Board of Directors.
