St Anthony Church Newsletter
The invitation for us in this Sunday’s liturgy is to allow Jesus’ questions to the disciples to lead us into a deeper reflection on the power of God that is at work both within himself and, through faith, in us. Rather than freeing the disciples from any experience of fear or suffering — or simply explaining away their fears — Jesus invites us to look with the eyes of faith so that fear may be replaced with wonder and awe at what God has done — and is continuing to do — in our lives and in the world.
As per the Archdiocese:
  • Effective Wednesday, June 9th, for those who are vaccinated, wearing masks will now be optional while at Mass, at other liturgies, and at any indoor or outdoor events held at our churches.
  • Those who remain unvaccinated should continue to wear masks.
  • Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion should continue to wear a mask and sanitize prior distribution.

Thank you for everyone who helped to make our St. Anthony Feast Day a memorable day. We appreciate the volunteers and all the parishioners and guests who attended the Mass, participated in the procession and came to the reception of hotdogs and hamburgers. Many complimented on the beautiful day we were able to share together.

  • The Knights of Columbus paid for the burgers, hotdogs, buns, chips and condiments and did the cooking.
  • The Ladies Guild and Baking Committee made the desserts, leftovers were given to those attending bingo.
  • Jill, Trudy, and Annamarie filled the bags with the St. Anthony bread that was later blessed and distributed.
  • Billy was our young St. Anthony of Padua in the procession.
  • Joe Gomez and Jean Beard represented those who have been here at St. Anthony Church since the first Church was built.
  • Stella, for being behind the camera to capture these special moments.
  • Coca Cola Company donated the drinks, thanks to John and Tricia.
Thank you to Diana Veneri for planting Father Gregory’s garden this year!

Volunteers are Needed -Do you like working outdoors? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you to help with some chores. If you can help, please call the office at 2037584056.
Last Tuesday, seventeen parishioners completed the Heart Saver CPR/AED Certification - Recertification Course at our parish and received vital information and skills to save a life! Click here for a few more photos.

Fifteen American Express Gift Cards will be given as prizes!
You will soon be receiving a letter in the mail soon, with more details, along with 4 raffle tickets at $25.00 each. Checks are payable to St. Anthony Church.
Extra raffle tickets can also be purchased from the parish office. We hope that you will participate in the raffle by purchasing tickets, giving as a gift or selling them to family or friends. Thank you for your anticipated participation!
Congratulations to Leah Tracey, our Father O'Dea Scholarship recipient this year!

Leah and her family joined Saint Anthony's after the Church of the Epiphany, in Cheshire, closed in 2017. She just graduated from Tyrell Middle School, and will be joining her sister Jenna, at Holy Cross High School in the fall. She has been an altar server for many years now, at both churches and we are proud to support her as she enters high school!
