Senior Spotlight: Thavy Vanthon

Meet Thany, a current senior at Lowell High School!

While at Lowell High, she took Early College courses to explore future possibilities, gain exposure to various opportunties, and hoped it would give her some idea of what to pursue as a career. Through the program, she found a community of other students who had similar goals and struggles as she did.

She enjoyed her time in the Early College program so much she decided to go on to be an Early College ambassador helping to create awareness for the program for other students. "I wanted to be an early college ambassador because I wanted to help other people who were struggling like me. As a high school student, it is pressuring to have things laid out nicely for the future, but some may not be able to, and that's okay. The role I had was helping a lot of people in exploring and understanding different fields and careers by taking certain classes."

As she approaches the end of her first semester of senior year, Thany has aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, wanting to major in animal science next year.
