Greetings GiveMNians!

Are you ready to break some records and "Give to the Max?"

On Nov. 16, 2010, with your help, we intend to do just that. Last year, we set the single-day record for online philanthropic giving. Give to the Max Day 2009 saw more than 38,000 donors log on to GiveMN to give $14 million to 3,434 Minnesota nonprofits, whose missions range from feeding the hungry, to protecting the environment, to promoting the arts. This year's goal is even more ambitious. We're asking you to help us engage more than 40,000 donors to give to their favorite Minnesota charities in just 24 hours!

We've been working hard to scratch out the details for this year's event and have a few noteworthy changes. Please look them over and help us gear up for an amazing day in November!

What's new?

Hey, we've redecorated! New in 2010, GiveMN will offer some new incentives to get you excited, engaged and, we hope, giving. Check 'em out:
  • Show me the money! A $20,000 and $10,000 prize grant will be awarded to the top two nonprofits in the Twin Cities and the top two nonprofits in Greater Minnesota that attract the largest number of individual donors on Give to the Max Day. Email everyone you know and ask them to help your favorite nonprofit win by donating on Nov. 16.
  • I got the Golden Ticket! Throughout the 24-hour event, an individual donor will be randomly chosen every hour to have $1,000 added to their donation. So, start thinking about which time you might want to give, maybe every hour? Think "slumber party" for charity! You and your crew could donate at 2 a.m. and win a Golden ticket that gets your favorite nonprofit an extra $1,000. Pretty awesome, right?
  • Double your dollars! Nonprofits who secure matching funds for Give to the Max Day will be highlighted so you will have the opportunity to double your dollars for any one of hundreds of featured organizations.
  • Year end giving? Plan your year end giving on Nov. 16 to help your favorite nonprofits win! Plus, how cool would it be to help GiveMN break its record of online giving by being one of 40,000 caring Minnesotans?
