SCHOOL OF INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Today is the day! We're #RowanPROUD to be part of Rowan's 11th annual Day of Giving.

Over the years, this event has raised over $1.7 million to secure a better and brighter future for Rowan, Rowan-Virtua, and CMSRU students, and has helped the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators at Rowan University.

A gift today not only supports academic excellence but also fuels innovation — sparking transformative research, igniting entrepreneurial spirit, and providing essential resources for students launching and growing their businesses.

With their historical gift, Henry and Betty Rowan shined a light on how the local community and higher education can partner to transform students' lives. As Mr. Rowan explained:

"I've often thought as I've watched the streams of fresh molten metal pouring from my furnaces that they were casting a better life for the enormous segment of the emerging population that had not yet enjoyed the benefits of industrialization. Now I can envision a procession of bright, energetic young men and women moving out to create things of enduring value, to create and improve the world they live in."

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Amanda Kaiser

The Entrepreneurship program at Rowan has helped me to grow my network, improve my ability to critically think, and develop both personally and professionally. Thanks to my entrepreneurship scholarship, I can continue my education with the confidence that hard work truly does pay off.

Dalila Velazquez

This scholarship has made a meaningful difference in my journey, alleviating financial stress and encouraging me to pursue my passions with even greater determination. Creatives 230 has given me invaluable experience and I’m truly grateful for this space, as it played a key role in helping me earn the scholarship.

Madison Miller

Journalism ‘25, Entrepreneurship Minor

I am so grateful for my entrepreneurship scholarship because of all of the opportunities it has afforded me. I have supported myself financially all four years of college, so due to this scholarship, I am able to work a little bit less at my restaurant job and put that time towards my new internship at the New Jersey State House News Service.

SEED FUNDING FOR STUDENT STARTUPS

Aiden Tahmazian

Mechanical Engineering '26, Economics Minor

The seed funding we won from the New Venture Expo allowed us to conduct more market research and pivot to a new product. It also gave us a strong footing to start building our new product and has been instrumental in our growth.

Shruti Dalwadi

Biomedical Engineer ‘24, DO at RowanSOM ’28

The funding from winning MedTank 2025 has given the opportunity to see how much Rowan University cares about its students and student innovators. It’s good to feel supported by my community.

Chris Monroe

RCIE's AccelerateRU program and its facilitator provided me with the guidance and support to further scale my business. The funding has given us the opportunity to expand our market over the last six months.

The RCIE has provided me with so much support through the community of mentors and peers. The guidance and advice I've received has not only been invaluable to my business but has also provided me with the motivation to keep pushing forward in my entrepreneurial journey. I am so grateful for this community and the progress it has helped me achieve so far.

CEO Club is a truly unique club on campus, full of like-minded individuals thriving to one day start businesses of our own and be our own boss. I’ve learned so much from the meetings and the networking opportunities offered by the club and everyone is beyond supportive of each other's ventures. It’s a group of people I’m truly thankful to have found at Rowan.

Sapjah Zapotitla

Psychology, Sociology, Sports & Exercise ‘26

Being part of the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) at Rowan has shown me what it means to have a VOICE. It has been a great opportunity to be heard and to hear the voices of others at Rowan. I am always looking for ways to make society a better place and RCIE's UIF has given me the platform to do that. This fellowship has stretched my horizon, in ways I never thought would cross my path.

RCIE'S AWARD-WINNING SPACES

Shaila Saini

Marketing & Entrepreneurship '26

The Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship easily became a second home for me after I moved here from Canada. It allowed me to be around individuals who are driven and mentors with real industry knowledge, which in turn has transpired so much growth in my business and me as an entrepreneur. Now my focus is to give back to this space and RCIE, reciprocating its impact on whoever walks in.

Leah Fisher

Entrepreneurship '27

Studio 231 is such a creative space where innovation thrives. It’s so amazing to be able to visibly see my ideas come to life. Being an entrepreneurship major, trying to navigate engineering software was near to impossible. Collaborating with students from an engineering background was exactly what I needed to fine-tune my design.

Justin Iannelli

Marking & Entrepreneurship '26

Creatives 230 helped us step-up our website and eCommerce photos, making our brand look more professional. We also learned how to take better product shots ourselves. One of the photos from the Bobica shoot even became part of an ad for a billboard in Times Square that performed really well!

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMMING

Batma Manazarova

Entrepreneurship '28

In my freshman entrepreneurship experience class, I was able to find a sense of community and push myself out of my comfort zone, which really helped me build confidence. This class also gave me the chance to explore social entrepreneurship, something I hadn’t really thought about before.

Micheal Robinson

Entrepreneurship '28

Being a member of Rowan’s Entrepreneurship Program has proven to be an invaluable resource for me. I entered college with no direction, but even through my short time here as a freshman, I have gained substantial support and knowledge that has motivated me to begin applying what I have learned into my own businesses.

Kashmala Khan

Computer Informatics & Systems ‘26,

Marketing & Entrepreneurship Minor

The RCIE has had a profound impact on me, thanks to the support of the strong-minded individuals around me. It has pushed me beyond my comfort zone, encouraging me to be more extroverted and engage with others. Through this experience, I’ve come to understand that every opportunity is a leap of faith.
