and show some love to our local small businesses.

Grow it. Make it. Bake it.

The Farmers Market at Ix is proud of our producer-only market. That means fresh produce, one of a kind art pieces, unique prepared meals and bread just baked!

Celebrate someone you love with artisan gifts and delicious sweets.

Chocolate? Yes, please!

Visit Odyssey Chocolate and Truffles in a Jar to satisfy your chocolate cravings.

Zeus' Gormet bakery has something special for the animals you love.

Or how about a little self-love?

Treat yourself to some FREE art-making at the Ix booth, grab a bakery treat,

or just a hot cup of coffee could do the trick.

And, of course, don't forget Cecile.

Give her a wink when you walk by the Market Central booth!

Black History Month...

In celebrating Black History we also look forward to the Black history makers.

Take a minute and give a round of applause to the Black small business owners in our community. We are proud to be home (on Saturdays!) to some exceptional Black businesses. If you haven't tried their products,

consider this an official invitation!

Shop and Give Local

The Shopping List...

This week I'm shopping for tomatoes.

Tomatoes?! No way, it's February!

Well, pre-shopping really. I'm looking at CSAs to see what they are offering for the upcoming year. If you aren't familiar with CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) here's the quick scoop:

A farmer will offer a certain number of "shares" of produce (and possibly other farm products) that are picked up over the course of the season. The contents of the shares vary as the season progresses and harvested crops change.

The cost to join the CSA is paid in advance to the farmer which allows them to create an income for the work ahead and be sure that all that produce finds a home.

Join a CSA and you can

  • Eat seasonlly
  • Try new produce
  • Get to know your farmer
  • Participate in the local economy
  • Preserve our farm land for small farmers

Take a look at our Vendor List on the Market Central website

to see who offers a CSA or ask your favorite producer.

Market Central relies on donations from those vested in local food.

We support our community by providing:

  • Access to local, fresh foods
  • Exposure for farmers, artisans and entrepreneurs
  • Research into best practices at markets and food access programs
  • Collaboration with organizations to give voice to the community
  • Promotion of our local economy by giving local businesses a venue and customers buying power through our Market currency

We envision a market that is sustainable, reliable, and meets the needs

of everyone who wants to access local food.  Learn more here.
