Win an episode of Buzz Live!

Buzz for Good logo

Submit a video about your work for a chance to win a Buzz Live episode! Additionally, video submissions may be featured during a special Giving Day event hosted by the CFNRV and Buzz (details coming soon.)

What could you win? During a Buzz Live show – which Buzz4Good live-streams to their Facebook and YouTube channels and later broadcast on Blue Ridge PBS – BUZZ creator Michael Hemphill chats with the inspiring people who serve, and are served by, nonprofit organizations and features a musical guest affiliated with a nonprofit.

What do you need to do? Send us a short video (no more than 30 seconds) with your elevator pitch about your work that includes:

1) who you are,

2) what you do, and

3) what you're raising money for during the GiveLocalNRV Giving Day.

You are welcome to be creative and entertaining as you'd like with the video, but make sure the audio is good and shoot in landscape (holding the phone or camera horizontally.) Also, feel free to use the video you create in other places such as social media or your website!

Deadline to be considered is Friday, June 20 at 4 p.m.: submit the video to Lindsey at lindseygleason@cnfrv.org no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, June 20 to be considered for this prize! Late submissions will not be accepted. This prize can be won in additional to winning up to two other prizes and one grant.

3 Types of Giving Day Donations

What Donations Count for the Giving Day?

#1: Online donations made on givelocalnrv.org. The site accepts a variety of payment methods.

Two types of offline donations:

#2: Cash

#3: Checks (must be dated between June 1 and June 26)

  • All offline donations must be received between June 1 and noon on June 26 and added into the GiveLocalNRV system by noon on June 26 to count toward your Giving Day totals.
  • If a check is over $1,000: we need documentation! See below for details. Without documentation, these checks will not be counted toward your Giving Day totals.

What else should you know?

  • New in 2025: we no longer accept wire transfers for this event.

  • There is a $5 minimum donation for this event. There is no maximum!

Are you concerned that donors will give through your organization's website for the Giving Day? We strongly recommend updating your website to direct folks to your Giving Day page! Add a note to your homepage and to the donation page to help them find the right place to give.

You can even add a GiveLocalNRV donation widget to your organization's website that will direct folks to your Giving Day page. Find out how to do that in this Mightycause Support article.

How to Add Offline Donations

How to Add an Offline Donation

Need a refresher on how to add an offline donation into the system? Visit this Mightycause Support article that shares how to do it.

When you add an offline donation, the only required information is the donor's name, donation amount, date received, and source (please only select either cash OR check.) You may add additional info if you wish, but it is not required.

Checks Over $1,000: Send Us Documentation!

Send Documentation for Checks Over $1,000 If a check is over $1,000: we need documentation! Send a copy of the whole front of the check to the CFNRV team at lindseygleason@cfnrv.org. You can black out the account info when you send the documentation.

🚫If you fail to send this documentation in by noon on June 26, the donation will not be approved and it will not count toward your Giving Day totals.
