WP’s program will provide students with enhanced training and credentials for careers as case workers, case managers, child welfare specialists, correctional counselors, and substance abuse counselors, among others.
The certificate program, created by the University's Cannabis Research Institute, can be added onto any major for WP students. Throughout the program, participants will be connected to prospective employers in related sectors for internships and job opportunities.
Through the program, which began this semester, students can graduate with a bachelor of science degree in sport medicine in three years, and go on to complete a master of science degree in athletic training in two years. As such, graduates of the “3+2” program will leave the University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years total.
Professor of Marketing and Management Bela Florenthal saw a need in class beyond educating her students on the principles of marketing. She saw a generation struggling with mental health issues and got creative with her course syllabi in trying to flip the script.
A communication major and native of Teaneck, New Jersey, Wilkerson serves as WPSC FM’s event and promotions director, and is also a volunteer US board member with World College Radio Day, an annual event founded 12 years ago by WP communication professor Rob Quicke.
Angus's inaugural book, Max’s Fuzzy Feelers, goes to print on November 28. Currently available for pre-sale through major retailers such as Amazon and Walmart, among others, the book just spent 10 days in Barnes & Noble’s Top 100 spot for sales.
During the three-day event, students participated in an intense series of selling competitions and workshops. Sabreen Huzien, a William Paterson University senior, placed second in the sales role play competition.
