Member Spotlight

Ms. Apollonia Ward

Why did you join the Potomac River Professionals chapter?

I originally joined NSBE in college because it felt like home, even in a brand new place.  I was ecstatic when I learned that there was a professional chapter right here at Dahlgren.  I enjoy the solidarity that comes with membership and the community outreach options that are available. I have always been a cheerful giver and it is exciting that my ideas are welcomed and that other members have devised numerous plans that allow me to give back. I feel like I get the chance to do my part, no matter how big or small, at changing the world and making it a better place, starting right here in my home town!

How has membership in NSBE been of value to you and your profession?

NSBE has given me numerous opportunities to create solid network connections within my profession.  I feel that NSBE allows me to expand upon my skills and use them to promote positive change within the workplace and encourage others to get involved in all of the great programs and community outreach incentives that are available.

Most recent accomplishment?

My most recent accomplishment was joining the social committee and getting involved with the behind the scenes work involved with setting up the upcoming events that NSBE is hosting in 2015.
