Giving It All Up

I heard an interview with a singer who described the feeling of singing in front of the congregation at church as "giving it all up and being a window," letting them see into your soul. That's probably the best description I've ever heard of the sales experience. It takes Know-Like-Trust to a much higher level.

Giving "IT" all up is to let go of the fear, selfconsciousness, over-thinking, and compulsive talking - all the head trash that stands in the way of a productive business relationship. It's being open to the possibilities generated by good questions and active listening, and then partnering with your customer to meet their needs. By letting go you actually gain control, they will look to you to provide a solution that alleviates the "pain" of their current situation.

This Month's Insurance Tip:  

October 1 marks the beginning of the open enrollment periods for health insurance plans. That's the day we can begin talking about the Medicare plans for 2016. Enrollment for those plans is October 15 through December 7. From November 1 to January 31 it's Open Enrollment for the under 65 plans. Carriers have made changes  for 2016 - some you will like and some you won't - so it's important to review those before December 7 if you want to consider moving to a different plan.
