Pastor Trudy's Message
Joy and sorrow together. The people get to return to their homes and begin work to rebuild the temple. Some shout with joy, but those who had seen the previous temple are weeping. The sounds mingle together, making shouting and weeping indistinguishable. I know the joyful shouting has to do with new beginnings, but I wonder at the reasons for weeping. Let's ponder them together this weekend.
Good and gracious God, in our joy and in our weeping, You are there. Help us to know this truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
