On Thursday, November 22, family and friends will come together to share stories and laughter over too much turkey and stuffing. Whether or not you partake in Thanksgiving and all the rituals associated with the day, it’s a time to hit pause on daily routines, to reflect and give thanks.
In keeping with this holiday spirit, I express my sincere gratitude for the work, volunteerism, and philanthropy that this community continues to give SafeNest.
And to share a few October milestones -- all of which were either lead or attended by our friends, community partners, donors, volunteers, survivors, and colleagues.
Cocktails & Conversation with Denise Brown
(sister of domestic violence victim Nicole Brown Simpson), the first in a series of events to raise awareness about domestic violence in our community.
Crisis Advocacy Volunteer Orientation Training.
We realize it’s a huge commitment and appreciate you giving us 26 hours of your valuable time to learn about crisis advocacy.
Hoover Dam Turns Purple
to commemorate victims of domestic violence. I talked to many of you and heard your amazing stories of survival and hope.
Numerous fundraisers and third-party events
in support of SafeNest and our clients. We know what it takes to plan and pull off an event. Kudos to EOS Fitness, Girl Clique, Realty One Group NW, United Way Women’s Leadership Council, PIMA Medical Institute, Fennemore & Craig, Bank of America, Keller Williams, and many, many more.
Community Grants
Thank you NV Energy for supporting PS417, a unique partnership between SafeNest and LVMPD designed to reduce domestic violence homicides in Clark County.
I’m constantly amazed and overwhelmed by your generosity and commitment to survivors, victims and families affected by domestic violence. Whether it's your time, dollars or goods, SafeNest couldn’t do what we do
without YOU.
