Save the Affordable Connectivity Program!

Internet access for 23 million families is at risk if Congress doesn't act.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was the only federal program that helped lower-income families afford high-speed internet and devices. Over one in six Americans relied on the ACP to get online and stay online.

Unfortunately, the ACP ran out of funding in June of 2024, causing families across the country to pay more for internet service, with many losing connectivity altogether.

That's why we are calling for additional ACP funding immediately. Not only would this funding allow the ACP to continue helping the millions of families who rely on it, it would also give policymakers time to come up with a plan to fund the program permanently.

We need to work together to keep the ACP funded.

Several national organizations including Common Sense Media, EducationSuperHighway, and others are involved and they recently created an online survey to capture testimonials either from individuals or organizations about the impact of the end of the ACP on access to the internet.

National Afterschool Alliance Next Generation of Afterschool Leaders: Now Accepting Nominations

Each year, the National AfterSchool Association recognizes a cohort of emerging young leaders who are afterschool champions and believers in the out-of-school time profession.

NAA's Next Generation of Afterschool Leaders identifies young leaders and recognizes and cultivates the talent of afterschool champions who have the potential to influence the field of afterschool for years to come. The selected emerging leader honorees will have demonstrated contributions that have started to influence beyond individual programs to organizations and communities, a proven passion for developing themselves and others, active engagement in efforts to elevate the afterschool field, and demonstrated persistence in their work to grow as leaders.

Join us in recognizing extraordinary individuals, age 30 or under — firm believers in the power of afterschool ― who are vested in things like advocacy, professional development, creative program design, the power of youth voice, data and evaluation, and social justice.

Grants and Funding

This fall, Afterschool Alliance is focusing on sustainability in afterschool and summer programs. As pandemic-relief funds wind down, long-term sustainability has become a top priority for afterschool program providers across the nation.

Funding for programs can come from various sources, including federal, state, and local governments, foundations large and small, and other donor groups. Tracking down those funding streams and determining eligibility takes a lot of time and resources, which we know are in short supply.

The Funding Database allows you to search for funding by state, grade level, and program area, as well as filter by funding type (private or government). Application deadlines, eligibility requirements, and a brief description of the opportunities are available at a glance, and one click will get you to the details of the funding announcement.
