Giving Thanks for Our Clients and Team Members
As 2020 draws to a close, we want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season and offer our best wishes for the new year. We at CIP Finishes are thankful to serve a growing list of top-notch general contractors, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us to fulfill interior finishing hardware needs on your projects.

We take very seriously the task of finding, furnishing and installing the right items for your jobs, and we could not accomplish this detail-oriented work without the excellent team we have built over more than three decades in business. This month, we are celebrating the promotions of two of those team members—Senior Director of Business Development Jennifer Fousek and Lead Project Estimator Travis Turner. Jennifer, Travis and the rest of our wonderful team members are integral to what we do. We look forward to continuing to serve you in the new year.

Taking Closets to New Heights

The Elm is a towering new community opening in 2021 at the corner of Wisconsin and Elm in Bethesda, Md. Discerning apartment hunters can’t help but notice its impressive height, glass skywalk, architecture and amenities. But what helps win them over are unit upgrades that are useful and stylish – features like modular shelving, one of CIP Finishes’ specialties.

You may not know that our company started out decades ago installing custom closets. Today we furnish many different kinds of interior hardware finishes to large, multi-family developments, and we continue to be known for our excellence in shelving.
The Elm’s two 28-story residential towers have 456 apartments. CIP Finishes is furnishing each with shelving by Modular Closets in bedrooms, den closets and coat storage areas.

“Modular shelving is an affordable upgrade that is attractive, durable and functional. It’s a feature that residents appreciate and, increasingly, have come to expect,” says CIP Finishes President Paul Milde.

We are pleased to be working with Clark Construction, the general contractor, on this development.

As Suburbs Grab Attention, Renters Still Seek High-Quality Finishes

There has been a renewed focus on the suburbs in 2020. Multi-Housing News reported in August that vacancy rates in suburban markets dipped below those in central business districts in the second quarter of this year for the first time in years.

While much of the coverage of this shift has focused on individuals’ wish to move out of crowded urban centers because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this shift predates the pandemic. And there’s no question that those leaving cities have become accustomed to a high level of quality finishes and living space, which CIP Finishes has played a role in creating in both urban and suburban communities.
