Dear Friends of Habitat,

Giving Tuesday is just around the corner and if you'll allow me, I'd like to invite you to participate in our next construction project. We have four new houses to build and your support is vital.

Earlier this month we sent out an appeal letter to kick-off the campaign, which many of you likely received. I'd encourage you to read the full letter. (If you missed it in the mail, view the digital version here.) In the letter, Ian, our Construction Manager, shared the following:

The local median home rental costs $2,755 per month, and a two-bedroom apartment averages $2,136 per month.

For many families, especially single parents, it’s too far out of reach. Even if they are lucky enough to find a rental, it doesn’t mean it is a decent or stable solution."

Ian is right. The recent historical inflation has had a negative impact on the availability of decent and affordable housing. Rental and home ownership is so expensive. With your support we can make a real difference in 2025 for four new homeowners and their families. They are waiting hopeful for a miracle. Let's work together to make their dream become a reality. There are several ways you can give.

Over the coming months we'll share more about new homeowners, their journeys, and how your support is making a difference in their lives. Let's make this Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday a milestone and help us build four new homes!

Best Regards,

Lorraine Larson
