Participate in Today's Giving Tuesday Event
#GivingTuesday is here! During today's global giving event, please consider making a donation in support of Housing Connection, TSAHC's education and training initiative for nonprofits that help prepare families for homeownership. Support from donors like you helps us ensure that Texas home buyers have the resources they need to become successful homeowners.

Not to mention, it pays to give! Your sponsorship of Housing Connection will support housing and financial education AND increase your visibility among potential buyers. If you donate $200 or more, you'll be listed as a 2022 Housing Connection sponsor. View this flyer for more details.

If you've contributed to Housing Connection in the past, now is a great time to renew your support! All donations will be tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by the IRS. If you have questions about becoming a Housing Connection sponsor, please contact Laura Ross at lross@tsahc.org.

TSAHC recently received a $10,000 grant from Texas Community Bank in support of the Texas Supportive Housing Institute, a TSAHC initiative that provides nonprofit developers with the information, resources, and tools they need to create successful permanent supportive housing (PSH) projects in their communities.

With this grant, Texas Community Bank is supporting the efforts of a San Antonio team dedicated to developing PSH units and helping vulnerable residents lead healthier and more stable lives.

We would like to thank Texas Community Bank for supporting our Institute!

TSAHC Partner Spotlight: Darla Berry with Avenue CDC
We periodically spotlight a staff member or partner to help our readers get to know our mission and industry a little better.

This week we interviewed Darla Berry, Senior Director of Fund Development at Avenue CDC, a nonprofit in Houston, TX that builds affordable homes and strengthens communities. TSAHC has partnered with Avenue for several years through our Housing and Economic Assistance to Rebuild Texas (HEART) and Texas Foundations Fund programs.
Podcast Episode 20: Protect Your Home. Have an Estate Plan
Our homes are one of the largest assets that most of us will ever have. But if you don’t have a clear estate plan in place, your heirs could have difficulty documenting their ownership of the property. In this episode, we interview Crystal Requejo with the Mexican American Unity Council to discuss the importance of estate planning and provide some estate planning tips for homeowners.
A Thank You to Texas Veterans
In honor of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the brave sacrifices of the Texas men and women that have dedicated themselves to defending our country.

Texas is home to more than 1.4 million veterans, and we wanted to spotlight a few programs and services that help current and former members of our armed forces live comfortably in the communities they worked to protect.
