Arriving on the heels of Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a day that prioritizes celebration of community while highlighting opportunities to give back. We at TCPG are feeling so grateful for our very special community, and today we invite you to support your school with a donation. 

Nothing embodies the love we feel for our community more clearly than the Gratitude Tree. Thank you all for adding your own leaves of thanks and helping this tree come to life. If you find yourself at school with a few minutes to spare, stop by the Gratitude Tree just inside the front doors. It is sure to warm your heart! 

On December 4th (7-8:30 PM), Thornton Creek Parent Group is pleased to host a parent education event: Coming Together to Support Fully Funding Schools.

This (adult only) event will provide an opportunity to learn about how schools are funded in WA and opportunities to help support fully funding public education. This is a timely conversation given large budget gaps in Seattle for next school year. We need all of us in this important conversation - so please come!

To date, we’ve raised $32,698 toward our overall goal of $175,000! For perspective, last year we raised $99,000 by December 31, and we hope to meet that target again this year. Need some extra motivation to give now? Help us max out our Family Match before it expires on December 1.

A group of families have pooled funds to offer a fundraising match up to $12,500 for all donations made between now and December 1.

So far, we’ve raised over $8000! Nice work!

We ask for your help now to raise the remaining $4000 to receive the full match and to help us meet our overall fundraising goal.

Employer matching is a crucial strategy to allow us to reach our goal, and we know we are leaving money on the table every year. We’re committed to supporting you if you need any help in this regard!

Drop off your gently used snow/ski gear and winter coats. Pick out something cozy for winter! Boxes/racks are located in front of school.

As Native American Heritage month draws to a close, we continue our family expedition on the Western Red Cedar with a wonderful video from the City of Seattle Archives highlighting the cultural importance of this tree: "People of the Forest" (1994)

Our incredible Thornton Creek school and community are made possible first and foremost by our incredible teachers, school staff and administration. They are the heart and soul of our school and the stewards of our learning and growth as a community.
