Please consider donating to Bluff Lake Nature Center on Giving Tuesday Now!

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. You can donate through Colorado Gives. We know times are tight for everyone and we thank you for your continued support!

You can donate online by clicking the link below, or sending a check to the address:

Bluff Lake Nature Center

Your donation matters:
-Help us purchase new equipment and materials in order to ensure our programs are safe for families to enjoy
-Help us with site maintenance and habitat protection expenses which have gone up due to increased site usage
-Help us continue to have the nature center be free and open 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset

Benefits of donating:
-Thanks to a generous donor, all donations $500 and over will be matched! ($500-$999 matched at 50%, $1,000-$2,499 matched at 75%, $2,500+ matched at 100%!)
-Thanks to the Enterprise Zone Tax Credits, Colorado taxpayers may earn a 25% state income tax credit on any donation over $100 made to Bluff Lake.
Distance Learning

To date, we have finalized and sent out three unique distance learning programs to the nearly 4,000 students who had scheduled field trips this spring as well as all the teachers who have visited Bluff Lake in the past. Two of the three have been translated in to Spanish, with the third in the works! The three programs sent out are:

  1. Water Mission: grades 3+
  2. BLNC Animal Signs: grades 2+
  3. BLNC Habitats: grades ECE-3

We also made teachers a packet of our most popular daily nature activity posts so that students could continue their nature learning independently!
Virtual Earth Day Event

Thank you to everyone that attended our virtual Earth Day event All About Animals! We greatly enjoyed creating this material for you all to enjoy and hope that you had a great time completing the activities with your family. If you missed the event, don't worry! You can still find the information on our Facebook and it is also posted on our Distance Learning website above.

Check out the video and activity about beavers - one of the animals we covered on Earth Day!
Bluff Lake is there when you need us.
Come visit our site, connect with nature, and practice social distancing by using our trails.
