GAF Launches "Viking Voyage to Excellence"
The Geneva Academic Foundation (GAF) is a non-profit organization that raises money each year to fund grants for the purchase of equipment, tools, programs and services for the teachers and classrooms throughout  Geneva Community School District #304, as well as two annual scholarships for graduating seniors from Geneva High School.  Since 1987, the role of the GAF in Geneva has been to provide an ongoing bridge to academic enrichment for all students across all schools in the district.  To date, GAF has contributed over $1.3 million to teacher-inspired innovations.

The Geneva Academic Foundation recently established four funds within the Community Foundation to support their various objectives:
To make a classroom successful, the teacher must have the ability to create and deliver an experience that motivates students to succeed. But what if you want to make a classroom extraordinary? Then the teachers and students need you. GAF donors play a critical role in helping young minds come alive and thrive. There are so many innovative tools, resources and programs available to qualified teachers to help students not only succeed, but exceed their individual potential.

As the strain on school budgets continues, it is more important than ever for GAF to continue its mission of funding grants that enhance the education of Geneva students. GAF has launched the "Viking Voyage to Excellence" campaign to support the GAF Endowment Fund, which will provide GAF with a sustainable and consistent funding source for annual grant requests from Geneva schools and teachers.

Donations of any amount to the Endowment Fund are appreciated, but donors at certain levels will be recognized with a brass emblem engraved with their name and donation level on a permanent model Viking Ship display in the main hall of Geneva High School.

For more information about the Geneva Academic Foundation and its endowment campaign, download the Viking Voyage to Excellence Brochure. Read about the classroom innovations funded by donations to GAF in the Inspiring Young Minds Brochure.
