Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) is dedicated to supporting and giving back to the community and that is mirrored by our employees. Over the years, the team has given over $127,000 in donations to various CHI fundraising campaigns. These donations have made lasting impact on the lives of thousands here in South Florida and beyond.
To show appreciation, each year we highlight a CHI employee that exemplifies what it means to be a great team member. This year we want to give specials thanks to Carol Blackwell-Curry for her generous support for the Children’s Crisis Center.
Blackwell-Curry is the Director of Volunteer Services & Event Coordination. She recently gave her biggest donation yet and she expressed her motivation to give back.
“I often hear the fear and grief in the voices of the children and their parents when they come into our health center,” said Blackwell-Curry “It truly breaks my heart and if my donation can help one of these children, I am grateful.”
The spirit of nurturing and giving back runs in the family for Blackwell-Curry, as her mother raised four children and four foster children. She strives to follow in her mother’s footsteps and give back to the most vulnerable, our children.
“My gift is in honor my 91-year-old mother who is my she-ro!” said Blackwell-Curry.
