Greetings,

As we approach the end of the year, there is not a more perfect time to reflect on the accomplishments that we have made as a community. This certainly includes our fundraising efforts for the Children’s Crisis Center.

It is truly an exciting time as we are close to the completion of the crisis center’s $5.5 million campaign. Thanks to you, we are less than $441,000 away from meeting this goal and are that much closer to constructing the much-needed center for our children.

Your contributions will positively impact the children of South Florida who are suffering from severe mental illness.

Although we have made great strides towards our goal, we are not yet at the finish line, and I ask for your continued support to get us there! There are many ways you can kickstart the journey of healing for thousands of children.

Join us today at the biggest fundraiser of the year in South Florida at Give Miami Day. By designating your donation to CHI and the Children’s Crisis Center, you help make CHI eligible for matching and bonus funds.

Leave your mark on the Crisis Center by designing a Brick of Hope. This is a fun way to give back to our children and have your name permanently displayed at the entrance of the center.

Join us at the CHI Golf Tournament on April 3, 2023 and enjoy a great day at the breathtaking Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club golf course.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of Community Health Foundation and leading this effort to bring change to the lives of vulnerable children.

A big thank you for your continued support!

Yours Truly,
Gustavo Hermida
GIVE MIAMI DAY
DONOR HIGHLIGHT:
CHI EMPLOYEE MRS. CAROL BLACKWELL-CURRY
Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) is dedicated to supporting and giving back to the community and that is mirrored by our employees. Over the years, the team has given over $127,000 in donations to various CHI fundraising campaigns. These donations have made lasting impact on the lives of thousands here in South Florida and beyond.

To show appreciation, each year we highlight a CHI employee that exemplifies what it means to be a great team member. This year we want to give specials thanks to Carol Blackwell-Curry for her generous support for the Children’s Crisis Center.

Blackwell-Curry is the Director of Volunteer Services & Event Coordination. She recently gave her biggest donation yet and she expressed her motivation to give back.

“I often hear the fear and grief in the voices of the children and their parents when they come into our health center,” said Blackwell-Curry “It truly breaks my heart and if my donation can help one of these children, I am grateful.”

The spirit of nurturing and giving back runs in the family for Blackwell-Curry, as her mother raised four children and four foster children. She strives to follow in her mother’s footsteps and give back to the most vulnerable, our children.

“My gift is in honor my 91-year-old mother who is my she-ro!” said Blackwell-Curry.
