Westchester SJHS Alum Adds Physical Strength to His Spiritual Well-Being

Written by: Tony Quattrochi, Alumni Relations

Some students might describe high school with the word “eternity,” but Rob Schultz , St. Joseph High School Class of ‘91, probably saw eternity in a different light.
As a member of Divine Providence Parish in Westchester, Father Rob was called to serve God early in his life, and almost 10 years to the day of graduating from St. Joseph, he was ordained as a priest in the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 19, 2001, at Holy Name Cathedral.

“I never thought in high school that I would be a priest, but you can’t outrun God if he is calling you,” Father Rob said. “I always encourage vocations to the priesthood because it is a very fulfilling way to serve God and others, and it is certainly never boring! I’ve had a lot of... READ MORE

Providing Thanksgiving for Others
For over 20 years, St. Joseph High School has teamed up with a local chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help provide a Thanksgiving meal for needy families with children. Student Council coordinated a homeroom drive to fill 25 baskets with 25 items, including a gift card toward a turkey. On Monday, members from St. Vincent DePaul came to SJHS to pick up the baskets. Ms. McGleam and Mr. Zitzer supervised the collating and loading of the baskets.
