Looking for something in the Golf Shop but didn’t see it? Please email matt.felber@gladespringspoa.com with any suggestions on merchandise for the Golf Shop!

The winter season is approaching quickly, and the dreaded frozen white flakes will appear over the next few months. Keep in mind the golf shop and/or the Stonehaven starter shack will be open throughout the off season depending on the weather.

As a reminder, the Woodhaven golf course closed on November 1, 2021 and will reopen on April 1, 2022. The Stonehaven golf course will be open 7 days a week depending on weather and conditions. Please call the Woodhaven golf shop at 304-763-3332 for available tee times and conditions.

We are also in our frost delay season so some tee times may be pushed later until the temperatures are warm enough for play to start. After November 1, 2021 the Golf Shop at Woodhaven will be weather dependent.

Please call or email us with any questions or comments at golfshop@gladespringspoa.com or matt.felber@gladespringspoa.com.

There will be some days that the golf course will remain closed due to weather or temperatures so please check in with us before heading onto Stonehaven.

GSVPOA Members -

Winter is here and the courses are being prepared for the coming colder weather over the next few months. The grounds crew continues their leaf clean-up, spraying for the prevention of snow-mold, trimming low limbs on trees, and getting some tasks completed that are difficult to do when there is a lot of play.

We would like to thank the membership for their continued support, and we look forward to seeing each of you out on the course next season.

Drainage Improvements on Stonehaven

The drainage work on Stonehaven was completed during November. The crew from Xtreme Golf Maintenance was excellent to work with, and we look forward to working with them again in the future to continue to improve the drainage on our courses.

We installed over 5,500 feet of drainage on holes 3, 7 and 16. In some of the new trenches water was beginning to flow while the crew was still working on the installing the drainage pipe. Many of the areas that were addressed were full of clay and rock which caused these areas to remain wet most of the time. It was great to see these areas starting to dry up since they have been problematic for many years. Now that this drainage has been installed, we will be rolling and topdressing these areas. This will help smooth them, firm them up and make them more playable in the future, while the drainage does its job of taking the excess moisture away.
Number 7 fairway after drainage is installed and sod has been replaced.
GSVPOA Committees

Are you looking for a way to help our community? The POA is seeking new members for our seven committees. If you are interested please send an email to info@gladespringspoa.com.

Architectural Control Committee (ACC) - Allen Teinert chairman
The ACC is responsible for enforcing the Rules and Regulations that govern the Village. In addition they review and approve all new house plans and changes to the exterior of existing homes or property.

Communication Committee - Gary Schroeder chairman
The purpose of the Communication Committee is to promote homeowner awareness of newsworthy community interest information. Principally, this is done through the monthly electronic newsletter, "The Glade Springs Villager". The committee is also responsible for updating and distributing, through the POA Office, welcome/information packets to all new property owners and residents.

Dam and Safety Committee - Ken Dunlap chairman
The committee is responsible for the safe operation of Chatham Lake and Dam. This includes complying with state Department of the Environment Protection (DEP) regulations: monitoring the condition of the dam, water quality and ensuring the POA complies with all required reports and inspections. The committee also monitors for any invasive vegetation or excessive algae growth. It makes fish stocking recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Finance Committee - John Stroud chairman
The mission of the Finance Committee is to provide input to the Board of Directors on: financial operations; financial reporting; operating and capital budgets and financing needs; and for any accounting and tax matters as requested by the Board.

Golf Committee - Steve Wagaman chairman
The Committee's charge is to plan and promote golf activities for the POA members while closely interacting with the Director of Golf.

Greens Committee - Doug Amtsberg chairman
The mission of the Greens Advisory Committee (GAC) is to provide input to the GSVPOA Board of Directors on golf operations, capital improvements and golf maintenance activities for the Stonehaven and Woodhaven Golf Courses. Members of the GAC also serve as liaisons among the golf maintenance team, GSVPOA management and the GSVPOA Board.

Legal Committee - David McClure acting chairman
The mission of the Legal Advisory Committee (LAC) is to provide oversight and review of all significant legal affairs of Glade Springs Village Property Owners Association and provide advice and counsel to the Board of Directors and committees.
Chatham Lake Dam Maintenance
Far Country Drive crossing Chatham Lake Dam will be closed to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, December 7 from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Please be aware this closure is dependent on the weather and may change depending on any significant precipitation preceding the maintenance work. Any changes to this date will be communicated to the residents.

The road will be blocked at Hawk’s Chase Lane on the west side of the dam and at Lakeside Drive on the east side.

This closure is necessary to replace the valve stems that are part of the system to control the level of the lake water as required by the WV Department of Environmental Protection. The road will be reopened as soon as the work is completed.

We apologize for the inconvenience
From HERE-to-THERE....
IMMERSION ART.....What's That?
Find out by visiting ‘Van Gogh for All’ at the Clay Center for the Arts
and Science in Charleston, WV now thru February 13, 2022.
Vincent Van Gogh, a 19th century Dutch painter, has been described as one
of the most famous and interesting artists in history. Several major immersive
Van Gogh shows are touring the country and drawing large crowds.

According to Liz Simmons, Clay Center Curator, Immersion Art is a different
experience… you sit in a room and images are projected around you. “Our show is active and interactive,” says Simmons. “The exhibit recreates images and scenes from Van Gogh’s world…his studio, his bedroom and his artwork.”
This hands-on exhibit allows visitors to climb into some of the images, take pictures and even put their hands on things. Simmons explains that ‘Van Gogh for All’ isn’t the usual Clay Center exhibit. She says it’s bigger, more complex and more elaborate than what usually comes to the Gallery.

Experience this intriguing and most unique exhibit Tuesdays thru Saturdays
from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Tickets are $9.50 for adults, $7.50 for students and free for children 2 and under. Call 304-561-3570 for further details.
ACC Rules and Regulations
The Board of Directors and the ACC Committee are responsible for enforcing the Rules and Regulations that were established when Glade Springs Village was built. The ACC has reviewed and updated the Rules and Regulations that cover the houses and property in the Village. These rules can be found on the GSVPOA website (www.gladespringspoa.com) under the 'About Glade Springs' and then 'Governing Documents'.

The POA has hired Dwight Smith to serve as our compliance monitor. He makes regular rounds through the Village streets and golf cart paths to identify violations. He is also a member of the ACC Committee.

The Board and the ACC feel it is important that these rules be enforced. Starting in August the committee began identifying violations and sending friendly letters to the property owners as a reminder that a violation was observed and asking the homeowner to correct the issue. Follow-up letters are being sent and fines will be imposed as described in the Rules and Regulations.

Please understand these rules have been established to help make our neighborhoods more attractive and to preserve our property values. The ACC is identifying violations fairly and consistently throughout the Village.

For questions about the ACC Rules and Regulations, please email compliance@gladespringspoa.com.
