Open to All: Food Distribution Every Wednesday at The Glades Initiative
The Glades Initiative offers weekly food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesdays from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation is extending the Free Boot camp class for May at the Glades Pioneer Park! Please help us in spreading the word in Palm Beach County’s Parks and Recreation-Free Fitness in the Park. For the month of May, we are hosting a Boot camp class series every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the Glades Pioneer Park. No pre-registration required, and open to the public ages 18 +. We had a great turnout in April and we want to continue spreading the word to the community, staff, and family!

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

Atrinity Health Center Now Carrying COVID-19 Vaccine
Atrinity Health Center has the COVID 19 Vaccine, Moderna. This vaccine requires a second dosage 28 days from the first one. Patients interested must call to schedule an appointment. The vaccine will be in stock beginning Monday, April 26, 2021.

PBC Office of Equal Opportunity RFP - Handicap Accessibility Awareness Grant Program
Handicap Accessibility and Awareness Grant Program will improve accessibility and increase awareness for the approximately 99,000 disabled persons living in Palm Beach County. $30,000 is proposed to be slated for funding. The grant program will enable any non-profit (501) (c)(3) status agency within Palm Beach County, that provides service to persons with disabilities, to apply for funding to improve accessibility and equal opportunity and/or increase public awareness for persons with disabilities.

If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.

Free Lacrosse Clinic at Glades Pioneer Park
Creator’s Game with Coach Suds and Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation is hosting a lacrosse clinic at Glades Pioneer Park every Saturday morning and Thursday evenings for the rest of the month and May 1st. This clinic is completely free and has a coach to come to teach them the skill and game. The coach will then select participants from the clinic to form two teams to represent the Glades to compete in a tournament completely free.

The School Readiness program provides financial assistance to low-income families for early childhood education and child care so families can become financially self-sufficient and their young children can be successful in the future.

PediPec Daycare Serves Children with Medical Needs
PediPec is a daycare for children with medical needs. They are located in Royal Palm Beach but serve the Glades area as well, providing transportation to and from the center. It is a service that is completely covered by Medicaid and is of no charge to the families.
