Affordable Daytime English Classes for Adults Begin - Ongoing Enrollment
West Technical Education Center and Bridges at Pahokee have partnered to help adults build skills in Speaking, Writing, Listening, Grammar & Reading. Classes are from Monday to Wednesday. Class time will be determined based on student level. Students must provide $40 (money order only) and a valid photo ID to register. Enrollment is continuous - you can enroll even after classes have begun.

Healthier Glades Launches Free 5-Week Mini Grant Workshop Series for First-Time Applicants
Have a great idea to make the Glades healthier, stronger, and more connected? Healthier Glades is here to help you bring it to life! From August 20 to September 17, 2025, Healthier Glades will host a free 5-week workshop series designed especially for first-time applicants preparing to apply for this year’s Healthier Glades Mini Grant.
To qualify for this year’s mini grant, participants must attend at least one workshop. However, attending all five increases your chances of receiving the full grant amount if selected. Who Can Apply? 1) Residents who have never applied for or received a Healthier Glades Mini Grant, 2) Grassroots groups without a 501(c)(3) designation and 3) Nonprofits that are less than two years old.

Calling all Advocates, Innovators, and Leaders: Become a Housing Leader in Palm Beach County!
The Housing Leadership Academy is your chance to create real change in our community. This 9-month program equips leaders to tackle urgent housing and homelessness challenges with practical, data-driven solutions. Learn how to shape inclusive housing plans, Navigate funding streams and policies, and Build partnerships that make an impact.
Up to 30 participants will be selected.
The Academy will meet monthly through in-person sessions, over the course of 9 months. Participants can expect a time commitment of approximately 6–8 hours per month. A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program and CEUs will be available through the Florida Certification Board.

Citizen’s Criminal Justice Academy Begins 9/17, Register Now!
The CCJA offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how Palm Beach County’s criminal justice system works. From law enforcement and the courts to corrections and community programs, participants will engage directly with professionals in the field. Whether you are simply curious or a committed skeptic, this course is designed for you. Dinner will be served each evening, and participants age 14 and older are welcome to attend. At the end of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their participation and commitment to understanding the criminal justice system.

People of Purpose, Inc. Presents: Walk in My Shoes Fundraiser
You’re invited to the “Walk in My Shoes” event on November 15, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This year’s theme: “Breaking Generational Cycles”, highlights the impact of Returning Citizens transforming lives. Sponsorships are available August 15–October 15. Tickets are $55 until Oct. 15. Ticket price after this date will be $65. Table of 10: $500. All proceeds support reentry success and second chances. There is a tennis competition - the best-looking tennis will win a $100 Prize.

The Caps & Cribs Teen Mom Mentoring Program is in Need of a Volunteer Mentor
The Caps & Cribs Teen Mom Mentoring program at Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies is in need of a volunteer mentor in the Belle Glade area to provide support and encouragement to a local teen mom. Mentors connect with mentees once a week to empower them to stay in school and plan their future, all while raising a child. Training and resources will be provided to help build a relationship of trust and confidence that will last a lifetime.
Minimum age to mentor is 25. Mentors must be a resident of Palm Beach County, have a driver's license, pass a background check, and complete training. There is one training before being matched.
