Open to All: Food Distribution Every Wednesday at The Glades Initiative
The Glades Initiative offers weekly food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesdays from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

Virtual Mentors Needed to Help Students in the Glades Schools, Take Stock in Children PBC
Take Stock in Children is seeking to find at least 5-10 mentors in the Glades area to mentor students that are part of our Take Stock in Children Program. Our mentors meet with their students once a week at least three times a month via Zoom, Google Meets or using our Mentor App. We need community members to support their students at Glades Central. Our mentors are the most important component of our program and through mentoring our students receive a two-year full-tuition scholarship to attend college.

This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.

Registration Open for 2021 Back to School PBC! Event
Registration is now open for the 2021 Back to School PBC! event. Back to School PBC! will be a drive-up event on Saturday, July 24 at different locations throughout the county to be announced at a later date. Registration is mandatory to participate in this event. Students must reside in designated neighborhoods or mobile home parks in unincorporated Palm Beach County to be eligible to register.

Animal Care and Control Offers $14 Pet Adoptions for Valentine's Day
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control is offering $14 adoptions on all pets in the adoption center for the month of February. All adoptions will ensure that each new furry family members is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and has a county license tag, free follow-up vet visit, and free bag of Science Diet pet food to go home with.
