The PBC Division of Senior Services (DOSS) invites older adults 55 years of age and older to its Mature Driver Insurance Discount Course. The State of Florida mandates an insurance discount for licensed drivers 55 years old or older who complete a 'State approved' driver improvement course. Pre-registration is required. This course will allow seniors to save up to 15% off their insurance premium.

From GTAC: We are pleased to have as our featured guest speaker Ms. Sharon Rose, Gerontologist, and Vice President of Programming for the Elder Services Resource Network.  The presentation will be the first in a series of meetings focusing on active adults in the Glades who are 55 years of age and older, as caregivers for their loved ones. We will gather to discuss priorities and to learn more about resources and programs.   

From Florida Atlantic University: "The research is being conducted by scientists at Florida Atlantic University's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute and is designed to fill an important gap in our understanding of the long-term impacts of harmful algal blooms (HABS) on environmental and human health. Follow-up sampling during bloom and non-bloom periods will be conducted."
