Open Enrollment for Health Insurance Marketplace Ends on January 15, 2025--Assistance in the Glades Available
This is the last chance to enroll in health coverage with the Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage starting February 1. Meet with a Licensed Navigator with the Covering Florida Navigator Program at the Health Council of Southeast Florida with Lake Okeechobee Rural Health Network team for free, unbiased, fair, and accurate information and help. Consumers can call/text at the numbers listed on the flyer below or make an appointment directly using the Connector scheduling tool https://widget.getcoveredamerica.org/. Services are available in South Bay, Belle Glade, and Pahokee all week and are opening evening and weekend appointments too. All languages.

Palm Beach County's Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Initiative is providing
supplemental rent and food assistance to people with HIV through Feb. 28, 2025.
Available services include up to three months of rental assistance, and two food boxes
valued at $150.

PBC BCC Unanimously Approves $10 Million for Health Care District's Crisis Center for Mental Health and Substance Abuse
The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to approve $10 million in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to support the development of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s state-of-the-art Crisis Center for Mental Health and Substance Abuse. This marks the first step in the development process of this critical facility.

Our training program offers the full complement of education hours and context areas that the trainee needs to fulfill the training requirements (30 contact hours) for the certification application as a community health worker (CHW). Homeless and Housing Alliance of Palm Beach County Presents: Homeless Point in Time Count
Volunteer registration is now open for the annual 2025 Point in Time Count! There will be three mandatory in-person trainings to choose from, on Friday, January 24 there will be two sessions to choose from: 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The trainings will take place at the Hagen Ranch Library- 14350 Hagen Ranch Rd, Delray Beach. Additionally, on January 28, 2025, from 9:00 am - 11:30 am. It is very important that you attend this training even if you have participated in past PIT counts. We want to make sure that if there is any problem with your device we are able to identify it there before you are in the field.

VITA Tax Assistance at Belle Glade Library
United Way of Palm Beach County’s VITA Program partners with the Palm Beach County Library System to offer free and confidential tax preparation and e-filing for eligible taxpayers. If your income was $76,000 or less in 2024, you may qualify for this service and could be eligible for up to $7,830 in Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). To participate, bring your 2023 tax return, Social Security card, W-2 wage and tax statements for 2024, Form 1098 if applicable, Form 1099 if appropriate, and Bank account and routing numbers. If you are filing jointly, both filers must be present.
