FREE FOOD for Anyone in Need at The Glades Initiative


The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during the hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).


Required to participate:

• Valid ID or your Glades Initiative Food Pantry ID

• ONE time per week


WHEN: Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Tuesday winter food hours)
  • 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Wednesday)

NEW: Wednesdays 4:00 pm- 5:00 pm – Drive through -food pantry – (current card holders only)

Walk With Ease Exercise Fitness Program at Glades Pioneer Park


Walk With Ease is a free fitness program shown to reduce pain and improve your health. Brought to you by experts you trust at the Arthritis Foundation, Walk With Ease provides techniques to build and maintain a successful walking program into your daily lifestyle.

Glades Fitness at Glades Pioneer Park


This community-based physical activity is a fun, energetic class, with a combination of short resistance and endurance training bursts, followed by recovery periods to give you the ultimate total body workout. It includes a large variety of upper body, leg strength, and cardio exercises. This class is for all fitness levels.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

Youth Services Department Opens 2024 Summer Camp Scholarship Program Provider Applications


The Summer Camp Scholarship Program Provider for summer 2024 is now open for applications until January 5, 2024. The Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides full tuition and fees for summer camp for children residing in families with income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Fees are paid directly to the camps that enroll the children with scholarships. The scholarship program is funded by the Board of County Commissioners and the Children’s Services Council. Providers can submit an application to the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department to join the approved list of summer camp providers for summer 2024.

In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.


If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last. 


If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.
