Applications Open: Interested in Serving as a Summer Camp Provider in 2025?
The Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides full tuition and fees for summer camp for children residing in families with income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Funded by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, the Summer Camp Scholarship Program gives children educational and recreational opportunities for growth. Providers are now invited to apply with the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department to join the approved list of summer camp providers for summer 2025.

The Palm Beach County Medical Society Services will have their Community Health Worker Training starting on January 24th. Our training program offers the full complement of education hours and context areas that the trainee needs to fulfill the training requirements (30 contact hours) for the certification application as a community health worker (CHW). Homeless and Housing Alliance of Palm Beach County Presents: Homeless Point in Time Count
Volunteer registration is now open for the annual 2025 Point in Time Count! There will be three mandatory in-person trainings to choose from, on Friday, January 24 there will be two sessions to choose from: 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The trainings will take place at the Hagen Ranch Library- 14350 Hagen Ranch Rd, Delray Beach. Additionally, on January 28, 2025, from 9:00 am - 11:30 am. It is very important that you attend this training even if you have participated in past PIT counts. We want to make sure that if there is any problem with your device we are able to identify it there before you are in the field.

United Way of Palm Beach County’s VITA Program partners with the Palm Beach County Library System to offer free and confidential tax preparation and e-filing for eligible taxpayers. If your income was $76,000 or less in 2024, you may qualify for this service and could be eligible for up to $7,830 in Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). To participate, bring your 2023 tax return, Social Security card, W-2 wage and tax statements for 2024, Form 1098 if applicable, Form 1099 if appropriate, and Bank account and routing numbers. If you are filing jointly, both filers must be present.

DOH - Palm Beach Vital Statistics Office Opens in Belle Glade
This new location provides the community of Belle Glade with the services to order and obtain birth and death certificates. It is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to noon every first Thursday of the month.

SPEC's Back-to-School Outreach Campaign
Stakeholder Partnerships, Education & Communication (SPEC)’s Back-to-School outreach campaign is working to provide information that helps parents of young children and college students. With the filing season quickly approaching, this is an opportune time to remind parents of young children and college students about their potential eligibility for EITC and other refundable credits. We also want to make them aware of free tax preparation available through the VITA/TCE programs in their communities. Many taxpayers are not claiming credits they are eligible for--only 80% that eligible claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties Has Opened Their Annual Scholarship Cycle!
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties announced the launch of the nonprofit’s annual Scholarship Program for local high school students. Applications open on December 16, 2024, and will be accepted through February 3, 2025. Awards average $10,000 and are available for students enrolling in colleges, universities, trade schools or vocational programs.
