The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).
Required to participate:
• Valid ID or your Glades Initiative Food Pantry ID
• ONE time per week

DEADLINE EXTENDED: 2021-2022 Food Storage Capacity Grant - Round Two
United Way of Palm Beach County’s (UWPBC) Hunger Relief Initiative Food Storage Capacity Grant (FSCG) - Round Two is now open! The goal of the FSCG is to expand food storage capacity in order to minimize food waste and increase the volume of nutritious food available throughout the hunger relief system in Palm Beach County (PBC).

Free Tenant Assistance Clinic From Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County

FREE Meals Available to Children in Palm Beach County During Summer 2022
School Food Service will continue to offer free meals during the summer, at various schools and libraries throughout the county. Summer BreakSpot offers balanced breakfasts, lunches, snacks or dinners at no cost for kids 18 and under. Meals will be served on site, at no cost, at places like parks, libraries, schools and churches. No identification is required.
(Children who visit a school or library that serves meals, must remain onsite while they eat their meal. Parent pickup as well as grab-and-go options will not be available, as they are no longer allowed by the United States Department of Agriculture.)

Housing for Farmworkers in the Glades
Okeechobee Center and Osceola Center are Farm Labor Housing communities consisting of one-story buildings containing efficiencies, one, two, three- and four-bedroom units. Both properties are conveniently located in the City of Belle Glade, close to schools, shopping, and public transportation.
An eligible household must include a domestic tenant or cotenant farm laborer, a retired domestic farm laborer, or a disabled domestic farm laborer." in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Income restrictions apply.

The grant process for Impact the Palm Beaches will be opening soon. Each year, Impact The Palm Beaches awards $100,000 grant(s) to area nonprofits to ignite transformational change in our community. An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.
If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.
