Attention community partners: Please save the date for the Glades STAR System of Care Meeting at Lakeside Medical Center in Belle Glade. 

For your summer enjoyment and enhancement, The Belle Glade Branch Library is offering a "free" 4 week, one-hour course for adults in July. "Literacy Plus in Motion classes will be held Thursdays, starting July 5, 2018 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Belle Glade Branch Library's conference room. Topics will include creative and resume writing, basic grammar, and public speaking.

Project C4OPE will connect families who have had been affected by overdose, or at high risk for overdose.  We are meeting the 2nd Thursday of each month May - Sept.  This will an opportunity for those individuals to express their needs and wants around the topic of opioid overdose. The meetings are free and open to the public with advance reservations.

The city of South Bay presents Clive Walford Day - Kids Fest and 2nd Annual Neighborhood BBQ. The public is invited to participate in the event, which will feature a 3-on-3 Tournament, prizes, shirt and backpack giveaways, autograph signing, health screenings, haircuts, and free food. Proof of residency required for South Bay residents. 

On Saturday, August 4th, 2018, The Palm Beach County Back to School Bash will host our annual community Back to School Bash from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. We would like to extend to you, your business, non-profit and civic organization, an invitation to participate in this annual community event. We are seeking vendors that specialize in products and services geared towards families. During the Bash, your business will have the opportunity to display their products/services and distribute literature to thousands of families in Palm Beach County. There are 5 Bash sites happening throughout the county on the same day.

We help ALL communities in crisis situations. We help with items such as but not limited to children's clothing from NB-TEENS, diapers, toiletries, wipes, formula, baby furniture, and more. We run strictly on donations so we take anything and everything and we do pick-ups. To help fund the resource center we have a Children's Boutique with new or gently used clothing and other items for sale at a very reasonable price. Soon we will be able to offer classes to help youth and adults with GED, communications, finding your personality, self-defense, and more.

From the Town of Palm Beach United Way: "We need your help collecting supplies for our back-to-school 'Boxed for Success School Supply Drive' organized by the Town of Palm Beach United Way's Youth United Committee.

The drive benefits local Title 1 elementary schools in Palm Beach County. This year, students at Belle Glade Elementary, C.O. Taylor/Kirklane and Highland Elementary Schools will receive thousands of pencils, crayons, glue sticks, paper and other supplies collected during the drive.

Now through August 6, supply donations and checks made payable to Town of Palm Beach United Way and decorated shoe boxes will be accepted at the United Way Office: 44 Cocoanut Row, Suite M201; the Palm Beach Daily News: 400 Royal Palm Way, Suite 100; and the Palm Beach Fire-Rescue Stations at 300 N. County Road, 355 S. County Road and 2185 South Ocean Blvd."

Upon her departure from the Board, current Vice Mayor Mack Bernard made it a cornerstone of his priorities. The study and legal analysis has concluded and staff has begun the public input process. The Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller will be presenting a workshop on the topic of "How to Collect a Money Judgment". The event is part of a series of "Do-It-Yourself in Court workshops offered each month by the Self Service Center of the Clerk & Comptroller.

Kings Tutoring & Mentoring Foundation has formed a new youth football/cheer program in the Treasure Coast Pop Warner League. South Bay have not had a program of such in over 18 years. KTM and former coaches from South Bay Youth Football League have teamed up and put this program together in the city of South Bay. We are currently taking recruiting and  excepting  applications for Migrant and seasonal Farmworkers for Vocational Trainings with local vocational  schools and colleges in the glades and West Palm Beach Area.  Please call or stop by our office for more information. If you or a family member is a Farmworker , You may be eligible for our program. We assist with tuition fees, materials and other support while enrolled in this program.

From the League of Women Voters: "The 2020 census is only two years away. The Census Bureau is dealing with budget cutbacks, lack of leadership, failed field tests, and more. These problems alone have the potential to seriously hurt the success of the census, but the introduction of the citizenship question to the document raises many problems that will have long lasting, negative effects.

Palm Beach County Mayor McKinlay and members of the County Administration staff will be talking about the importance of the Census and how Palm Beach County is working to preserve the census at our Saving the Census Hot Topic lunch at the Atlantis Country Club."
