Open to All: Food Distribution Every Wednesday at The Glades Initiative
For the past year and a half, and continuing into the future, The Glades Initiative offers weekly food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

Florida Community Health Centers, Inc. continues to provide FREE Drive Thru/Walk-Up testing for COVID-19 (appointments are preferred).
You can still be tested even if you aren't experiencing symptoms.

PBSC National Science Foundation Computer Network Security Programs
Palm Beach State College is announcing fall enrollment for National Science Foundation (NSF) Computer Network Security certificate programs. Most classes can be completed online, at the Belle Glade, and Loxahatchee Groves campuses. State-of-the-art computer labs and tutors are available to assist all students. Financial aid may be available to qualified students.

Presenter Danniella Jones, Psy.D. will define race-based implicit bias and microaggressions while exploring their impact on youth, families, and those who work with youth. An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

Summer BreakSpot (For Ages 18 and under)
Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will transition from pre-summer feeding at eight locations to the full Summer Food Service Program feeding schedule. Beginning June 1, 43 sites throughout the county, including 16 Palm Beach County Library locations, will serve as meal distribution sites with additional sites added weekly. Parents picking up kits without their child present must bring identification for the child. Acceptable forms of identification include student ID, child's passport or other government-issued ID, birth certificate, adoption decree, immunization records, and school demographics.

Susan G. Komen Treatment Assistance Program
Susan G. Komen Florida has a Breast Health Navigator available for navigating screening obstacles and assisting and supporting those in need who have been diagnosed with cancer. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has limited in-person support, our Breast Health 101 education sessions are still available one-on-one via telephone or through Zoom for larger groups.

Highridge Family Center Provides Free Trauma-Informed Day Program for Youth
Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Highridge Family Center is providing a 4-days-per-week trauma-informed program for youth ages 11-16, who are experiencing problems at home, school, with friends, and in the community. The program is free of charge for Palm Beach County residents. Family therapy and group therapy are required components of the program. Daily sessions are held through July 9 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Real Talk: Support Group for Teens via Zoom
On June 17, the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Youth and Family Counseling program will begin hosting REAL TALK, a virtual support group for Palm Beach County teens ages 13-18 via Zoom Video. The six-week support group is designed to be a safe space where participants can learn to recognize and manage their emotions, develop self-awareness, practice mindfulness, and support other participants.

In an ever-evolving effort to continue essential operations, Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control will resume appointment-based spay and neuter services for Community Cats (feral and free-roaming) only, on a limited basis, in addition to re-opening the drive-up vaccine clinic for owned pets.

Take PBC Community Health Survey, Chance for $15
As a part of the community engagement process for the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), the Health Council of Southeast Florida (HCSEF) has developed the Palm Beach County Community Health Survey. This survey is designed to glean the community's perspective on the Community Health Improvement Plan and how COVID-19 has impacted the health of the community. PBC Libraries Connect Residents to Food Programs
The Library System is partnering with the Palm Beach County Food Bank will be at several Library branches to register residents for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Benefits specialists from the PBC Food Bank will assist with the application process and conduct the food stamp interview. Specialists can also help with other benefits applications available through the ACCESS Florida system including Medicaid and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Applicants must call a benefit specialist to schedule an appointment.
