Food Distributions in the Glades

The Glades Initiative Offers Food Distribution
The Glades Initiative offers food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

Hunger Relief Update - May 5, 2020

United Way Launches Food Finder Map
The United Way of Palm Beach County has launched a Food Finder map - an interactive tool using Google Maps - to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County.

DATE CHANGE: PBC School Feeding Sites Open
Meal distribution at School District locations has returned to twice a week. Distributions will occur Tuesday, May 12, and Thursday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 51 locations. Each day, parents and guardians who pick up food will receive a kit with three day's worth of meals for each child. The Tuesday, Thursday distribution schedule will continue through the month of May.

Summer Food Service Program Feeds Children Impacted by COVID-19 at Local Libraries
Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Summer Food Service Program, in partnership with the Palm Beach County Library System, will begin pre-summer feeding at six sites throughout Palm Beach County. Sites will distribute seven days' worth of meals to each eligible child. Meal distribution will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm, or until all meal kits are distributed. Currently, pre-summer feeding sites will distribute food once a week through Wednesday, May 27.

Youth and Family Counseling Telemental Health Services Available for FREE
Youth and Family Counseling (YFC) Telemental health services are available at no cost for Palm Beach County residents/families with youth ages 0-22. YFC is helping the community by providing assessments; family and individual therapy, parent education and school based behavioral health services via Zoom. YFC Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Masters level therapists and team can help families in the areas of:
- Bullying
- Self-esteem,
- Family Violence,
- School and Behavioral concerns
- Emotion regulation
- Parent-child relationships,
- Communication and social skills.
