Movie Fundraiser for The Glades Initiative: PAHOKEE PAHOKEE

If you didn't make it to its Sundance premiere - "Pahokee" the film is coming to the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center on May 14, 2019, at 7 p.m.! Q&A with filmmakers following the movie. Tickets are $5 at the door and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to The Glades Initiative. Co-sponsored by the City of Pahokee and Palm Beach State College.

Active Shooter Response Training, The Glades Initiative SHOOTING

This course is designed to train people in civilian active shooter response. This course will cover situational awareness, mental preparedness, history of active shooter events, psychological and physiological effects of a violent encounter, training mistakes, proper training defined, active shooter statistics/history, the origin of traditional lock-down and its intended purpose, U.S. Dept. of Education and Homeland Security federal guidelines, fundamentals of blood control, and a comprehensive breakdown on the current federal guidelines for civilians. The training will also involve interactive demonstrations and scenario-based training drills.
