The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during the hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).


Required to participate:

• Valid ID or your Glades Initiative Food Pantry ID

• ONE time per week

  • 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Tuesday)

This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

PBC Makes $1 Million Available for HOME Investments Partnerships


On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development (HED) will make available $1,000,000 from the federal HOME Investments Partnership Program (HOME) through Request for Proposals (RFP) HED.2023.3. Community Foundation Scholarship Opens April 26


The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties will begin accepting applications for its annual scholarship program on April 26. Health Officials Issue Blue-Green Algae Bloom Alert for Lake Okeechobee


The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County has issued a Health Alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in the Lake Okeechobee S352 (Lakeside) water body. This is in response to water samples taken on May 3rd, 2023. The public should exercise caution in and around these areas. This is a recreational surface water alert, drinking water is not affected.

In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.

If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last. 

If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.
