The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during the hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).


Required to participate:

• Valid ID or your Glades Initiative Food Pantry ID

• ONE time per week


WHEN: Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Tuesday)
  • 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Wednesday)

NEW: Wednesdays 4:00 pm- 5:00 pm – Drive through -food pantry – (current card holders only)

PACEs: Building Trauma-Informed Communities


In this intensive live, virtual workshop, participants will learn about: Types of trauma, including individual and community levels; Brain development and neuroscience; About the stress response system, and the impact of toxic stress; An in-depth look at positive and adverse childhood experiences and its impact on the individual, and more.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Changemakers, Deadline Nov 16


In April 2023, a meeting with funders/past grant recipients was held to plan the countywide Changemakers fund Grant. When Palm Health Foundation along with funders from Palm Beach County was awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Award, they received $25,000. Funders were asked to match the $25000 so that they could offer a county-wide grant. We had past mini-grant awardees who attended the meeting and gave input. The Community Changemakers Fund is live and is accepting applications.

Pahokee Christmas Parade


Pahokee's annual Christmas parade is returning - drumlines, floats, and more! The Christmas Parade will be held on Monday, 4th December 2023 at 6:00 pm. The parade line-up will begin at 4:00 pm on Larrimore Road (in front of the Anquan Boldin Stadium) and the parade will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.


"We are asking the entire community to participate in this year’s parade, churches, schools, nonprofits, all businesses, fraternities, sororities, farmers, retail, etc., so get in the Holiday Spirit and enter your floats, decorated cars & and trucks, walkers, sports organizations, etc."

The Birth to 22: United for Brighter Futures Alliance Wants to Hear from You, Ages 10-22


Birth to 22: United for Brighter Futures (Birth to 22) is an alliance of Palm Beach County community partners who support the healthy growth, development, and education of our children and youth prenatally through young adulthood so that they can graduate from high school and succeed in life. Birth to 22 is working to update the Youth Master Plan. This plan will use input from community conversations, the Youth Survey, action teams, and workgroups to identify needs and ways to address them in Palm Beach County. We need feedback from youth and young adults to identify the gaps and challenges within our community and create a new plan for services and support.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

PBC Awarded $1M from the EPA to Expand Tree Canopy in Glades Communities


The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) selected Palm Beach County (PBC) to receive a one-million dollar grant from the EPA Environmental Justice Government-to-Government (EJG2G) program to fund regreening efforts in the PBC Glades community. The EJG2G program provides funding to support government activities that lead to measurable environmental or public health impacts in communities disproportionately burdened by environmental harms.
