The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during the hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).

Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County Remind Floridians of Wildfire Smoke Health Risks
The Air Quality Index reached 111 as of 12:00 pm Oct. 3rd. 2023, which is in the “unhealthy to sensitive groups” range. This is mostly due to smoke from wildfires burning in Canada. The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County is advising people sensitive to smoke especially those with respiratory and heart issues to limit their outdoor activities.
Smoke is a respiratory irritant, and can cause scratchy throat, irritated eyes, nose and worsen conditions such as asthma and other chronic respiratory or lung conditions.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

PBC Dept of Housing and Economic Development Notice of Funding Availability
The Palm Beach County Department of Housing & Economic Development (HED) hereby
announces the availability of $1,372,640 in Impact Fee Affordable Housing Assistance Program (IFAHAP) funding from its Fiscal Year 2023 funding cycle. The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) has authorized the utilization of County impact fee investment earnings to support the construction of affordable owner-occupied, for-sale, and rental housing in Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control is Waiving Adoption Fees for CATober
Palm Beach County Department of Public Safety Division of Animal Care and Control (PBCACC) is waiving adoption fees for the month of October. Each adoption will ensure a furry friend is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has a county license tag. And to make sure adopters get started off on the “right paw,” they receive a free bag of Hill’s Science Diet pet food.

Housing Equity Study Rollout
